Is my PSP 2003 hackable?

sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I've had my 2003 for a while now, and i accidentally updated to 6.20 a while ago. i don't know what FW my psp came with, but i have a bunch of info for it.

Under the battery
Date Code: 8C
Serial Number: HB0839029

On the Box
Name: PSP-2003 PB
Code Letter: J (i've searched the web and cannot find what J means, i bought it in Wales a while back, if that helps.)

Battery
The battery i bought it with was an unhackable MADE IN JAPAN battery, i only realized this after attempting to hard mod it, then googling because the attempt failed, battery works as normal.

Serial code (bottom of the PSP, the sticker)
to be honest, i found this one strange, but the serial code is as follows:
03-27401019-0839029-psp2003

Does anyone know if this PSP is hackable? because i'm hoping to either use the MARS downgrader once it's finished or Pandora + MMS it back to CFW

also, another weird thing, i remember buying both my PSP and a 4GB memory stick for it from GAME, the odd thing is the psp says under the battery info

Magic gate: Unknown

could i still use that with a Pandora to downgrade?

if you bought your psp late 2008 about the time the psp 3000 came out then its NOT HACKABLE but if you bought it early before October 2008 then your psp is hackable most psp 2000 is hackable its really rare to have a psp 2000 with a ta88v3 motherboard

This info could be wrong but double check all the info on your psp. That serial is really weird.

i read somewhere. i'll try to find a link, and it said that if i looked under the battery and the serial code was

ANY 2 LETTERS 0-1 = hackable
2-3 = Unhackable

is that true? but wouldn't the date code of 8c mean that it has an tavV2?

All i can remember is the 3000 came out not that long after i bought it
sorry i can't help much, i'll go hunting for receipts or whatever trying to find the date bought.

chances are its unhackable, BUT i know ONE interesting fact that MAY be extremely helpful for you guys.

When i bought it, i think it either came WITH, OR i updated it to run with ChickHEN, and i ran PSPIDENT, sadly i CANNOT remember what the results where, and i lost a picture when i re-formatted my drive long ago.

so, could the fact that it came with 5.xx something firmware be helpful?

because i DO remember updating my PSP ALOT, and also unknowingly at the time when i was on my way home from a holiday i remember upgrading to 6.20 on a ferry. because at the time i didn't know the jump from whatever i was on would make chickHEN unuseable.

hope this info helps guys i REALLY want to hack this thing.

i thought that serial was weird too. i'll check the info again now. but the serial is CORRECT

one worries me guys is the fact that under the battery, according to the SERIAL it can be hacked, but according to the date code ABOVE it cannot!??

was i unlucky and got a psp at a mid-point of changes or something?

maybe i have some unknown motherboard?

the problem is i can't risk opening it to find out!

Hoorah, but possible bad news! i just found all my manuals, and the GAME booklet with the receipt stapled inside!!

i think because you bought your psp 2000 before the psp 3000 came out and because it dosnt have letters and numbers AB02 your psp IS HACKABLE

It's not hackable if you bought it in 2009. They started shipping all psp's with the new motherboard in late 2008.

you can install 5.00m33 after downgrading it with pandora

the pandora turns the psp on, i get the green light, but with both the magic memory stick that came with the battery AND the psp grader stick, all i get is a blank screen, even when using the the left trigger.

ill charge battery to 100% and retry

still nothing, i've tried the PSP GRADER and TOTALNEWBIEASYINSTALLER to make my MMS, but i still get a green light and a black screen.

i have 3 memory sticks -
the MMS - 512mb Magic gate SUPPORTED (CAME WITH FILES FOR THE PANDORA, but i couldn't get the Pandora to load up from it)
Original (all my files) - 4GB magic gate UNKNOWN
Spare (tried as MMS but nothing) 2GB magic gate UNKNOWN

Green light automatically when i insert the battery, no other lights, the screen just stays blank, i don't think it even turns on.

is it the Pandora, the memory stick or the PSP that causes the problem?

please help!
